New York State of Mind

Just FIVE more days!! I've been so excited about going home, that I haven't been able to sleep right for the past couple of days. Luis and I have so much to do! I just know that I'm going to be freaking out on Friday. Only a few of my family members know that I'm leaving Saturday, I hope everything goes well, since my sisters and cousins don't know and hopefully won't get fishy when they see my aunt making her famous meatballs (one of my fav. meals).

Mmmm, smell that dirt!

I didn't really know what to expect when I first arrived to El Paso. I mean I didn't know anybody, I had to have someone drive me everywhere, and I didn't have my family. I just felt alone. That is, until I started making friends. Now, it did take me a year to meet new people, but all that time I spent alone was so worth it. For the friends that I've made here are just incredible people. I'm going to miss you guys so much while Luis and I are away. The cool thing is that I'll have lots of stories to share with my family. Stories that I hold so close to me, that just set you guys apart from the people I've met in my life. Like how much you all like it when it rains, and that "great" smell that comes along with it. You all know that I'm not very fond of how it smells when it rains here. But, lately I've been hoping so bad that it rains before I go, that I was just so excited when it started to rain yesterday. Now, maybe it'll rain again tonight, I can't smell it yet so we'll see. Amanda, I know the smell of rain over there will probably won't be the same, so I hope you too are enjoying the rain and your last few days here. I'm already missing you! :(

My Mom

I know that here Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May, while in Mexico and South America it's celebrated on the 10th of May. In my family we tend to celebrate both days, but today's means the most to me. I haven't celebrated Mother's day with mom for the past three years, which leaves me feeling sad at the end of the day. The past three years haven't been so great for me. I miss my mom and family so much. I especially miss my mom when I have those happy, sad, silly, and exciting moments, because I know it's a constant reminder that she and my family aren't here. Even though I'll be going to see her this summer, a part of me will always miss her for those ordinary moments that weren't shared together.

I heart this Pussy...

Cat! I believe it was love at first sight when it comes to this very special kitty. I mean how can you not love her and the rest of her little Sanrio buddies?! She just brings as smile to my face, can't say my wallet feels the same, but I know she's always been worth it.

Newb

Newb*, the first thing that comes to mind. That, and the face Luis will give me once I tell him about the blog! Haha. I can see it now. I know he's not going to be excited about it, but he has to give in. I mean all the cool kids are doing it! :)

*A term used to describe a inexperienced gamer/person/etc. Unlike a noob, a newb is someone who actually wants to get better.
Someone who is new to the activity that they are currently partaking in.

Example:
Leet Player: Why is he just looking at the wall?
Other Player: I think hes a newb.
